Five days ago, the Balearic government activated the protocol for suspected cases of coronavirus. In accordance, all hospitals in Balearic have created isolated units for suspected coronavirus cases.
A residence of Marratxi, dad of a British family of four who has been under medical watch at Son Espases Hospital, Palma Mallorca, since Friday has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus. He reported on Friday that he had been in contact with a Brit holidaying in France who was later confirmed to be infected with the virus. He reported to medical officials at the Son’s Espases hospital after his 10 years old daughter began showing flu-like symptoms. Prior to this date, two weeks earlier, he had a fever and breathing problems that lasted just for a day.
Three of the other family members, his wife, and two daughters together with his traveling companions are under observation even though they tested negative and have no flu-like symptoms. They may perhaps be compelled to observe the two weeks quarantine required by the WHO.
This ranks as the second confirmed case in Spain’s Mallorca after a German holiday marker, diagnosed January 31st in Gomera, Mallorca, who has been under isolation for close to two weeks now with no symptoms despite testing positive for the virus.
The ministry of health, Spain, announced that authorities were studying prospective cases of individuals who might have come in contact with him when he was on the Balearic Island.
News of this second confirmed case surfaced after an evacuation flight out of Wuhan, the center of the coronavirus outbreak, landed in the UK, February 10th.
The killer virus broke out late December in Wuhan, Hubei province, China and has infected over 37000 persons, 97% in China with more than 800 individuals losing their lives to it. However, nearly 300 peoples who were hospitalized have recovered from the infection.
